Giving a voice to Auckland's migrant women

Book launch 24 Jan, 2015!!!


Auckland Council and Puketapapa Local Board invite you to a garden party and book launch.

This event is to celebrate the successful conclusion of a creative writing workshop series for migrant women that happened November 2014 at Pah Homestead and Wesley Community Centre. The workshops were led by well known New Zealand writers, Renee Liang, Johanna Emeney, Vivienne Plumb, Miriam Barr and Ros Ali.

32 women from 16 countries took part in this exciting programme and examples of their work are collected in New Beginnings: New Kiwi Women Write.

Books will be available for sale and there will be readings by the writers, please join us for afternoon tea to celebrate!

What: New Kiwi Women Read Their Stories: reading and book launch

Cost: Free, all welcome

Venue: The Pah Homestead, TSB Bank Wallace Arts Centre, 72 Hillsborough Rd, Hillsborough (plenty of parking on grounds).

When: 4-6 pm, Saturday 24th January 2015

Bring a hat and a picnic blanket to sit on if you wish.
